Fast Pesto Pizza Appetizers:

White Pizza with Pesto
Who wouldn't love this white pizza made with three cheeses and a savory pesto? You can assemble it quickly on pita bread anytime people stop by, but it's also a great little meal for when you don't have much time to cook. It takes just 10 minutes to assemble and then 15 minutes in the oven.  A good deal all around.

This is a thin and crispy crust with low carbs. According to the reviewers this is totally yummy the way the recipe is written, but you can use it as a base for other favorite toppings.  I'm thinking sun-dried tomatoes and bits of canned artichokes would be wonderful also. You could make a variety of these mini-pizzas to display for a party and cut them into eighths or sixths to be appetizer sized pieces.

The mix of cheeses with the pesto makes these a bit gourmet, in my opinion. I think they'd be wonderful at any party you might have in the coming holiday season.  Come to think of it, with grape tomato halves or the sun-dried tomato bits would turn this into a Christmas colored pizza.  The recipe calls for using whole wheat pitas (lots of flavor besides being healthy), but you can use plain pita bread it you prefer.

Click here for this easy recipe at Prevention. If you eat one-fourth of a mini-pizza, you'll get about 264 calories and 17 grams of protein.  That's before you add any other toppings.  This recipe gets rave reviews, so consider trying it soon. It could really come in handy if you are expecting guests during the holidays.   You might want to use the pesto recipe on pasta or in other dishes. It also makes a terrific topping for crostini.

  1. I made a white pizza recipe once that called for a layer of mashed potatoes on top of the crust! With pesto and cheese, it was pretty good.

    1. That's one amazing pizza, anexactinglife! Not sure I'm brave enough to try it. Then again with enough pesto and cheese, it could work!
